How we are operating

Our Material Relief Foundation is committed to help the poor and the helpless abroad. Since 1994 we collect second hand, but in perfect condition, hospital and school material, organize its transport and, in general free, distribution abroad.

Until the end of 2017 we transported 1’100 tons of material (including 16’200 hospital beds) with a “new” market value of over CHF 400 Mio. The operational cost during these 23 years were below CHF 3Mio. (<1% of the total value of the goods shipped).

Local NGOs receive the materiel (never cash) and its good use is monitored either by the local ambassador of Switzerland or of the Order of Malta.

 Our core principles
  • We only supply non-profit organisations.
  • The transport cost must be covered by the receiving organisation. This increases the value of the received material (which itself is for free).
  • The receiving organisation and the use of the material must be documented.

Results achieved between 1994 and 2018

Between 1994 and 2017 we delivered:
Transports 1’274
Number of electrical beds 21’410
Total Volume 149’000 m³
Total Weight 72’000 tonnes
«New» value of the material CHF 440Mio
